I recently saw Iron Man at the theater and I was extremely impressed. Iron Man is a movie that actually takes the time to setup the original story of how Tony Stark became Iron Man. It wasn't like a microwave dinner where boom Tony Stark instantly becomes Iron man. No the movie takes its time and actually gasp has a plot and good reason for Stark to don the Iron man costume.
Another reason why I loved Iron Man is that Robert Downey Jr. is a bad ass, witty, and heroic at the same time. In contrast Tobey Macguire in Spiderman 3 was an emo haircut rocking, jazz hands waving spineless wimp. They tried to shove the theme of forgiveness down our throats in that movie like we were a little kid not eating his broccoli. Seriously how many superheroes would just let the guy who killed his own uncle go after the murderer gives the explanation that he was having some family Issues. Hey Spiderman he killed your uncle and this isn't Doctor Phil. At least web trap him in a cave somewhere.
Any superhero movie where there is a song and dance number ruins the whole superhero genre. Until Hollywood casts Rom Tom Tugger from Cats in Flamboyant Feline the movie keep dancing, jazz hands, and singing where they belong in broadway musicals. Finally another reason to see Iron man is that the final showdown is fun to watch and doesn't last thirty seconds like how Spiderman dispatched Venom like he was a hotel maid who didn't read the do not disturb sign. To sum it up Iron man rules, Spider man 3 sucks, and I'm a nerd thank you.

I still haven't watched Iron Man yet but I do like Spiderman a lot! I watched 1, 2, and 3 and can say I simply enjoyed them all!
I'm pretty excited to watch Iron Man thanks for the good personal review!
Nerds are the ultimate cool... so is Iron Man apparently. Will look out for it in theaters and won't spend a damn dime on that sucky Spiderman- promise.
I love that you are a nerd...I am a closet nerd myself. this won't get me any fans but I didn't like Spiderman at all not 1, 2, or 3. Sorry he is just too wimpy!!
Gerard Butler as Leonidas or Tobey Whatshisface as Spiderman...I think we know who would win this battle! I made my case.
I wasn't going to see Iron Man because though I love Robert Downey Jr. I just couldn't see him as a superhero.
You've changed that for me I will go check it out...thanks!
Hey, thanks for the review! I was gonna wait til this one came out on DVD. I think you changed my mind! BTW, I totally agree Spiderman should have web trapped that dude in a cave with that Empire Strikes Back super white Coca Cola bear like monster! Nerds unite!
That's great news that Iron Man is a kick-ass movie. I'm supposed to take my buddies kids to see it on the weekend.
I thought the first Toby/Spiderman was ok. I didn't see the other's though. I'd like to see all the superheros pitted against each other in a cage match to the death. Shredded bloody spandex flying everywhere *mwahaha*
Nerds rule! Nerds are cool. At least I hope so; it's the only thing I'm good at.
I probably won't get to see Iron Man but I do watch Krypto the superdog with my daughter daily, so maybe that counts. I've never met a nerd that I didn't like.
I look forward to seeing this. Thanks for the heads up.
Seriously? Robert Downey Jr. is a badass? I'm going to have to see this to believe it.
IT was A great film and y ou are right it put Spidey 3 to shame. I think It was superior to all spidey films, and most of marvels other films.
Wow, sounds like a good movie. I agree Tobey Macguire is a wimp. I never really liked the Spiderman movies. And I don't think I even bothered to see Part III. But Iron Man sounds good.
Hi,
I haven't seen Iron Man yet. Look forward to seeing it. But, I did like all 3 Spiderman movies. I have all 3 of the DVD movies at home. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us! :-)
Good review! I think you should slip more movie reviews into your blog! Although spiderman is a giant pussy....................
I hope to catch it this weekend!
I rather enjoyed Iron Man as well. RD Jr. was a good choice for the role and the visuals were very cool. Like you, I didn't much care for Spiderman... Nice blog you got going on here, keep it up!
I lkie Ironman better that Spiderman becuase of the story not the characters.
I think you have to put it all in context. Spiderman (as comic) came out long before Iron Man. And the main characters are worlds apart in age and status.
Where Spiderman appealed to me was when I was a teen I had the same fears and confidence issues. We see Peter Parker become a man, gain confidence and fight for the downtrodden. Stark is still a brilliant, playboy-style, billionaire.
Who is the more believable character?
Hi Bald eagle you do raise some interesting points. Spiderman is a frightened young man with confidence issues but my problem with him is although he gains confidence many of those issues remain and I still think the forgiveness angle was over the top. What super hero would let the death of their beloved uncle go unpunished.
amazing with black spiderman, very strong with venom power
