Paparazzi and Publicists

In today's blog i want to address the effect the media has on young female celebrities such as Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan, Miley Cyrus etc. I want to preface this blog with an important note. The responsibility and actions taken by young female celebrities are mostly their own fault for any consequences that occur. That being said their are numerous factors that play into their bad decisions.
First of all the paparazzi are paid stalkers that get paid to dig up and try to catch these girls in the most compromising of positions. Just leave them alone when they are trying to use the restroom or are having a private family moment.

Secondly I swear that the day these girls turn 18 ,or 15 in Miley Cyrus's case, their publicists immediately get working on getting rid of that innocent image. Being responsible and grounded doesn't get media coverage or magazine covers and its boring. Instead publicists help convert their clients from wholesome to whoresome. These young ladies go from hello kitty to hello pussy, bobbing for apples to bobbing for aholes, spelling tests to pregnancy test, and from using ez bake ovens to being baked and easy. Its sad how much we know about these celebrities when it really shouldn't be any of our business. I would write more but I got to pick up an us weekly and go watch extra.

Right on Tim, I have blogged on this topic as well. Being the father of a young woman, all of these negative role models really bother me. But, if people didn't have an appetite for all the celebrity crap, the paparazzi wouldn't have an audience. Hello kitty to hello pussy, that's great!

So who pissed in your Wheaties there Timmy Boy...a little rough on the world these last couple of posts. Kids are whimps and girl role models are prostitutes. Ouch! ;)

The world is what you make of it, you can go through any period in recorded history and find sh*t. You will never be able to hide your kids from the world but you can educate and nuture them on how they internalize what's out there.

When you change the way you look at things...the things you look at change. A little cliche maybe but so true!

Whats Jamie Lynn Spears' excuse? She got piled drived and knocked up before she turned 18. Unless she's 18 now?

I don't eat wheaties. With piss in them they really aren't the breakfast of champions. Plus my post wasn't really to bash those girls but more about how society molds them. Jamie Lynn Spears wanted to catch up to her sister fast. If those are girl role models society is in trouble.

I hate to admit it but I do enjoy the gossip sites (Iknow, I know-I'm probably going to hell). You are hilariously right on though. I love the from ez bake oven to baked comment. You are silly and feisty!

Heidi if someone as nice is you is going to hell we are all going to hell. lol. As much as I criticize everyone is a bit curious about celebrity lives me included. I still think its possible to be famous and not making sex tapes by 18 though.

I admit I love myself some celeb gossip sometimes. However, the Britney, Lindsey, and Jamie Lynn saga is getting old and a bit sad. I worry that by the time my daughter is in 4th grade, she'll be attending baby showers instead of sleepovers.

I couldn't agree more with the bathroom comment. I don't really need to see anyone, including celeb's walking out of port-o-potty's.

In the not so distant past I posted about the whole Miley Cyrus picture scandal thing. There I credited the same people that you are targeting in your post. Although I did give some negative attention to her father as well. In these circumstances, everybody seems to be using everybody. While you artfully still crafted some humor into this post I enjoyed the underlying seriousness that you maintained throughout. Take care my friend. =0)

So, this is what women's liberation is all about ...
My daughter is 13 and I can assure you that it's extremely difficult to explain her that these role-models might look very attractive and they seem to enjoy a lot of appreciation and reward but that, as you say in your post, reality is painfully different.

The worst part is the effect this has on teenage girls--they get the idea that behaving like what our parents would call a whore or slut is the right way to act. As the parent of a teenage girl myself, I know how hard it is to explain that just because Britney did it or Hannah Montana did it doesn't make it truly cool.

My kid's got some common sense but I can't guarantee she'll make the right decisions when the time comes. The best I can do is show her what's right and what's wrong and trust that she won't screw it up when the decisions are hers to make.

Bridget has a point too though--there were bad role models when I was a teen too, but they didn't mean I was going to get drunk and stoned all the time or bite the heads off bats (since I was a musician then, those role models were one of the voices I heard back then too) or smash my horns just to make an extreme statement.

The best we can do is to give our kids the tools to deal with what they may find in the world and hope they use them, whether it's the cool and trendy thing or not.

It's all my fault. I admit it. Ever since I became the master media manipulator, the man behind the celebrity machine. I keep it cranking like a meat grinder, who's and what's hot or not. Who's who, what's what, where's where, why's why... y'know, all that silly shit.

I made Hollywood, Hollyweird. And turned all the wholesome female celebs whoresome and turned the upstanding male celebs into douchebags. It's my job... true story.

It's also my job to make captcha verification as illegible as I possibly can so folks must attempt to enter their comments multiple godamned times unsuccessfully to annoy the f*ck outta you and you and you.

Yes you. Did I forget to mention anyone else?!

=P

I don't think Miley Cyrus is so bad. She hasn't really done anything too bad yet. My daughter loves her and "Hannah Montana" It's actually a cute show and she is a good singer. Maybe she won't turn out as bad as some of the others.

You know, I once heard that Amanda Bynes publicist told her to go out and get drunk more. So, not only do these girls lose that innocence of childhood, but they are encouraged to by the very people that are supposed to be protecting them and all in the name of FAME. Gross.

This article is "right-on-the-spot." These celebs have a mind of their own...and what better way to use them? Here's hint for them: try squeezing some brain juice for once?

Nice one...
